Plus 2 Postcards

Here's a postcard series created for +2 Marketing Consultants, a freelance client of mine. They came up with the copy and creative direction and I did the art direction and production from concept to final pre-press.

La Cucaracha

I like Mexican food and the song "La Cucaracha". I created the logo as a classroom example and demonstration for the Design 2 class I teach in the evenings at the College of DuPage. The project was to use Adobe Illustrator to created a type oriented logo with simple graphics and then create a menu using InDesign. The key objective was to use good design fundamentals along with a simple layout grid to create an easy to follow typographical hierarchy, such as those found in most menus. I created the stationery just for fun.

I created the nightclub version with the bugs for fun first, but some people were uncomfortable with the insects so I created a second version for fine Mexican cuisine with an upscale appeal.
